I am continually inspired by the Pilates method and love sharing this with my clients. Helping people connect with their bodies, and seeing them get stronger, healthier and happier because of it is amazing – it makes my job as an instructor not a job at all! I have always been interested in the fields of health and wellness, and after leaving my first career in nursing I searched several years for a new direction. In 2009 I decided to focus on the fitness aspect of health, and went back to university for my Kinesiology degree. My Pilates journey began when the Kinesiology co-op program led me to an admin position with Victoria Pilates. I began Pilates teacher training once I saw how much Pilates complemented other traditional fitness programming, eventually completing my training in 2014. After teaching in Victoria for 2 years and then taking a break after having my daughter, Claire, in 2016, I am so excited to return to Pilates in my hometown of Salmon Arm!

Hayley Harkness

Being able to facilitate a fun environment and positive change in peoples lives is my passion and I love using Pilates as my tool to be able to do that. I love this form of movement and after teaching for the last 12 years, I realize that Pilates and moving people will be a lifetime of learning and adventure for me. There is no way of connecting ones entire self that I enjoy more. 

My journey began on the mat in front of my TV, moving in terrible form to a Pilates home workout video. Thankfully, it quickly progressed to my lovely friend, Lara's, studio where I was introduced to the whole world of Joseph Pilates and the method he created. I completed my full certification and many other courses and continuing education. From then on, my love of Pilates, support from family and inspiration from friends, has kept me moving forward through an amazing partnership in two studios and to where I am now.

Welcome to my Watson world! I am a mother to 3 beautiful children with my husband Eli and love everything about body movement, functional anatomy and Personal development. Since an early child I have practiced yoga along side my family. Pilates and Yoga have stayed a perfect way to connect to my mind and body and arriving on my mat makes me so happy. Pilates is how I rehabilitated my back after many years of injuries from sports and bad posture. I have taught Pilates for the past 12 years and helped open 3 studios in the Shuswap/ Okanagan and love combining my knowledge. I aim to be a fun, playful and helpful teacher to all the students that come to the mat or equipment. 

Erin Kipp

CERTIFIED PILATES INSTRUCTOR

 

Erin was introduced to Pilates while living in Kelowna in 2015 and found it was exactly what she needed to connect with her body effectively after 15 years of training for Ice Hockey and Lacrosse, which she played throughout University. She began taking Pilates with the hope to offset the years of heavy lifting and improper core connection, and immediately noticed how amazing it felt. The mindbody connection Erin created through Pilates was the perfect solution, which led to her interest in teacher training. She quickly learned what a positive experience Pilates is for all body types, physical abilities, interests, and goals. Most recently, Erin was impressed with the positive results Pilates had on her body during pregnancy, labor, and recovery postpartum.

 Through her background in Kinesiology and her training with The Pilates Process, Erin has become a passionate advocate of whole body wellness through mindful movement.

Erin lives in Salmon Arm with her husband Damon and son Grayson.
